You can send free SMS from Gmail, but only to the U.S.
A few weeks ago commented in my particular technological Menahem it was possible to send SMS from Gmail (enabling the option of gmail labs), apparently due to some problems reitraron the service but have vueltoa reactivated. That if, for now only works for sending SMS to the U.S..
