Analysis of Windows 7 Beta 1 F3JC Asus

INSTALLATION:

-Installed in 22 minutes without having to do almost anything.

Windows 7 beta 1 (build 6.1.7000.0.081212-1400)

MANAGEMENT AND USABILITY:

"I just had to install the drivers for notebook graphics card, a Geforce Go 7300 (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/A6Jc/VGA_nVidia_Vista32_070313.zip) and sound as the mic sounded very low (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/F9E/Audio_Vista32_64_070808.zip).
The rest of the flight hardware recognized him: wifi, ethernet, card reader, webcam, sound, etc. Ubuntu-style :)

"In short, the response of the OS is fast and gives a sense of lightness.

The control processor is correct, quiet and warm.

RAM consumption must be well because the system does not crash, or slow at any time

"The system is managed in a very comfortable way. And it's nice how to use both sight. By minimizing windows style makes a small effect Compiz and some say the design is a mixture of Vista and KDE.

-Drive between the folders is very fast thanks to direct access next to the Start button.

-Find any file, program option is also fast and easy thanks to the "Spotlight" which comes out to click the start button.

Like the Vista is crap or useful things, depending on how you look at it as are the Gadgets to the desktop.

PROGRAMS

Windows 7 is not "junk" (or at least less) by default (for example, the messenger of the year on the bulb or Outlook) and luckily if you have built useful things such as DirectX 11 a program to create , delete or modify partitions.

"Almost all the software installed without problems I guess that the sites detected as Windows Vista and lowers your Vista drivers, because when it detected I downloaded the Vista 32-bit version installed it and perfect ....

"Programs that I have installed and work perfectly:
Google Chrome, Rapget, Songbird, Codeck Pack Media Player, Windows Live Messenger, Voipbuster, Nero 8 Lite, Virtual Clone Drive, Foxit Reader, Winrar and a couple of games.

"I installed programs do not work well:
Skype crashes when you feel like (this at least warned the facility may not work well)
Virtual Clone Drive does not mount images. Mdf
Creative Zen Vision M Software does not work, the mtp driver who brings not seem to recognize the player (which if you Songbird).

"I could not install programs:
Alcohol 120 is not installed by incompatibility issue version of SPTD.

GAMES:

Windows 7 comes with DirectX 11 by default (to check written to the command prompt DXDIAG)

I installed without problems and MotoGP08 NBA 2K9, but does not start missing a library said. I solved this by downloading http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-Lc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displayLang=en I think is DirectX 9.0c

It is understood that DirectX 11 does not work the game because it theoretically does not exist yet, hence we have to install a DirectX that "if exists"

PEGAS:

Like Windows XP takes to shut down and started well, I would say that something other than Windows XP. I hope to settle it in the next beta.

CONCLUSION:

Windows 7 has left me very impressed, I've only used Vista for more than five minutes, they say is a chestnut in basic issues such as excessive system requirements, hoping that Windows 7 was better than Vista, but still worse than XP. Fortunately Windows 7 is far better than Windows XP I think absolutely every aspect and at least if it is in two of the most basic handling and performance.

Many were dead at MS, you do not understand taking the market share it has, but I think we still have much to say in the world of OS.

On my computer using XP, Leopard and Ubuntu, without order of preference and depending on the time or whatever to do either used more.
Now I have it clear that I will use Windows 7, Ubuntu and Leopard, but I do it is because lately much use Skype to talk with my girlfriend and I want to play MotoGP08 (without mounting the mdf mini image I can not).

All have space on my laptop, because I believe that none of the three SO I mention it all together:

Ubuntu to do strange things.

Windows 7 to the games, things that only you can do in Windows (or Ubuntu after tinkering for a while), surf internet, play music or watch movies (because I manage energy better than Ubuntu on the laptop).

Leopard for when you need to get with Dreamweaver, Photoshop, or Apple products you have mono.
